    170812-N-ZS023-019 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Aug. 12, 2017) Damage Controlman 2nd Class Andrew Gebhart, a native of San Jose, California, assigned to the Engineering department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), communicates with a repair locker team leader in the ship’s storage spaces during a simulated main engine room drill. Repair locker personnel are responsible for upholding the material condition of the ship in the event of a major casualty. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
