NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Jan. 5, 2017) -- Sailors assigned to Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) and shipyard workers check sprinklers during a countermeasure wash-down systems test on the flight deck. The countermeasure wash-down system provides a moving screen of seawater to wash away hazardous contaminants from the ship's weather decks.
