Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania, on July 19, 2016 before a construction/demolition began. In total, the 10th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division removed approximately 5,000 cubic yards of soil, 5 reinforced concrete bunkers, 4 reinforced concrete jet-wash pads, and approximately 12,000 square feet of concrete driving surface in approximately 20 days. Soldiers with the 10th Eng. Bn. worked hand-in-hand with military engineers from the Romanian Land Forces to pave the way for multi-million-dollar construction on the air base.
