Sgt. Thomas Baynes, a military engineer with the 10th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, uses a heavy excavator to disassemble a bunker, August 2, 2016 during Operation Resolute Castle at Mihail Kogalniceanu air base, Romania. These soldiers excavated reinforced concrete bunkers and then reduced the bunkers using a hydraulic hammer and pulverizer. Soldiers with the U.S. Army worked hand-in-hand with military engineers from the Romanian Land Forces to pave the way for multi-million-dollar construction on the air base.
