Staff Sgt. Matthew Tucker and Sgt. Thomas Baynes, military engineers with the 10th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, plan removal of concrete bunkers on July 21, 2016 during Operation Resolute Castle at Mihail Kogalniceanu air base, Romania. These soldiers excavated reinforced concrete bunkers and then reduced the bunkers using a hydraulic hammer and pulverizer. Soldiers with the U.S. Army worked hand-in-hand with military engineers from the Romanian Land Forces to pave the way for multi-million-dollar construction on the air base.
