Cadet Maj. Sabrina Keenan of the Walla Walla High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps-Army in Washington gets some encouragement from her coach retired Sgt. 1st Class Mark Mebes during the 2016 JROTC National Air Rifle Championships held in Anniston, Ala., on March 17-19. 56 Teams from 73 schools as well as numerous individual shooters representing all four U.S. Armed Forces shot their way through various local and regional competitions in order to qualify for this culminating event. As an individual, Keenan was the 2016 JROTC Army champion in the Precision class. After graduation later this year, Keenan will attend the U.S. Naval Academy Prep school and will follow on to the Academy at Annapolis as a shooter for Navy.
