Cadet Cassandra Rodriguez of Parlier High School in California, takes aim at a small target 45.5 millimeters in diameter and 10 meters (33 feet) away during the 2016 JROTC National Air Rifle Championship in Anniston, Ala., on March 17-19. Parlier HS is a Navy affilliate and one of the 73 schools that sent 56 teams as well as numerous individual shooters representing the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps air rifle teams for all four U.S. Forces. Teams and individuals shot their way through various local and regional competitions in order to qualify for this culminating event. After two days of tough competition, Rodriguez won the Sporter class National Championship.
