Cadet Cassandra Rodriguez of Parlier High School in California pauses between shots to collect her thoughts at the 2016 JROTC National Air Rifle Championships held in Anniston, Ala., on March 17-19. 56 Teams from 73 schools as well as numerous individual shooters representing all four U.S. Armed Forces shot their way through various local and regional competitions in order to qualify for this culminating event. As an individual, after two days of competition, Rodriguez won the Sporter class National Championship. Parlier HS JROTC program is a Navy affiliate.
