Students from a primary school in Gulbene, Latvia, wave as soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division leave after a community outreach visit to the rural school Nov. 12, 2014. The soldiers got to interact with the students from both the primary and secondary school and were treated to several performances from the students and faculty during part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
