A Latvian school student models some U.S. equipment in front of his classmates and soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at a school in Gulbene, Latvia, Nov. 12, 2014. The students spent the day interacting with U.S. and Latvian soldiers, trying on equipment and asking and answering questions as part of an outreach to the community. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
