Latvian children greet soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division and Latvian soldiers as they enter a school in the rural town of Gulbene, Latvia, Nov. 12, 2014. The group was given several musical performances by the elementary and high school students there and were able to interact with students and explain how they work with Latvian soldiers to train as part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
