Marines with 3rd Marine Logistics Group salute as the U.S. and Japan national anthems play June 20 at the Surfside on Camp Kinser. Both “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Kimigayo” were played during the retirement ceremony of Sgt. Maj. Tamara L. Fode and her husband, Sgt. Maj. Rick L. Fode. Tamara L. Fode, a Hazelton, North Dakota, native, was the sergeant major of 3rd MLG, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and Rick L. Fode was the sergeant major of Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Futenma.
