A military ceremony is taking place indoors where a senior officer in desert camouflage (DCU) uniform is shaking hands with a soldier who has just received a medal. Multiple U.S. Army soldiers are present, wearing both desert camouflage uniforms and ACU (Army Combat Uniform) digital pattern uniforms. An American flag and unit guidon are visible in the background.

CAMP LIBERTY, IRAQ -- Lt. Gen. John R. Vines, commanding general, Multi-National Corps - Iraq, congratulates Spc. Michael Nalker, from Jackson, Miss., of 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment after awarding him the Army Commendation Medal Sept. 28 for bravery under fire during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Nalker's unit was hit by and Improvised Explosive Device August 13.
