A military ceremony is taking place indoors where a senior officer is presenting what appears to be an award or medal to soldiers standing in formation. The personnel are wearing Desert Combat Uniform (DCU) camouflage pattern, and an American flag is displayed prominently in the background. A briefing board labeled '1st BCT Nested Lines of Operation and Effects Objectives' is visible on the left wall.

CAMP LIBERTY, IRAQ -- Lt. Gen. John R. Vines, commanding general, Multi-National Corps - Iraq, presents Cpt. Michael Child, from Stroughton, Mass., of 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, with the Bronze Star Medal, with V-Device Sept. 28 for outstanding leadership and bravery under fire during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Child's Military Training Team, a unit designed to assist the Iraqi Army, was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device and small arms fire July 5 while conducting joint operations with the Iraqi Army. Military records indicate that Child's "coolness under fire" helped organize a defense and minimize casualties (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. John R. Rozean).
