Cpl. James Culpepper, animal care specialist, Public Health Activity – Hawaii, and Spc. Leanne LaRoche, animal care specialist, PHA – Hawaii, hosted an Animal Medicine Symposium where they facilitated classes at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, Sept. 10, 2021. The training focused on properly applying bandages, and how to perform a fecal sample. The event provided an opportunity for Soldiers to sharpen their knowledge and thus ensuring continued quality care for military working dogs, as well as privately owned dogs, that pass through their clinics.
The Best Leader Competition, one of the most highly anticipated events in the Army’s calendar, put junior military leaders to the test, challenging their physical endurance, tactical knowledge, and decision-making capabilities under pressure. Participants competed in a series of rigorous exercises that assessed a wide range of leadership and combat skills essential to success in the medical and operational military environment.
