SYNOPSIS
The French Navy’s aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle left its home port of Toulon on 24 April to venture in the Mediterranean Sea in preparation for NATO’s multi-domain enhanced Vigilance Activity called “Neptune Strike 2024”. On 25 April, the aircraft carrier demonstrated its ability to have jets, AEW&C aircraft and helicopters take off from and land on its flight deck.
Neptune Strike aims to demonstrate the Alliance’s ability to integrate joint high-end multinational maritime strike capabilities in support of the Alliance’s defence.
