NEW YORK (April 30, 2023) — The Freedom- variant littoral combat ship USS Cooperstown (LCS 23) arrives in New York in advance of its commissioning ceremony. USS Cooperstown will be the first naval ship named after Cooperstown, New York and honors the 70 Hall of Famers who served the United States during wartime in a range of conflicts spanning the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.
CARIBBEAN SEA — Sailors aboard the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Wichita
(LCS 13) recently completed a series of critical engineering repairs while deployed,
demonstrating the growing self-sufficiency and technical expertise of the Littoral Combat Ship
force.
MAYPORT Fla. (November 21, 2025) – Cmdr. Jesse Duparc relieved Cmdr. Patrick Earls as USS Cooperstown (LCS 23) Commanding Officer, during a change of command ceremony at Naval Station Mayport, November 21st.
MAYPORT, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2025) – Sailors assigned to the Freedom-variant Littoral Combat Ship USS Beloit (LCS 29) visited their ship’s namesake city Sept. 3-7.
MAYPORT Fla. (September 10, 2025) – Cmdr. TJ Orth relieved Cmdr. Matthew Arndt as USS Indianapolis (LCS 17) Commanding Officer, during a change of command ceremony at Naval Station Mayport, September 10.
NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, FL (Aug. 4, 2025). - The Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS St. Louis (LCS 19), along with the “Valkyries” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 50 Detachment 5 and embarked U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment 408, departed from Naval Station Mayport August 4th, beginning her deployment to support U.S. 2nd Fleet Area of Operations.
