U.S. Airmen assigned to the 703rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron conduct pre-flight checks on an E-3 Sentry aircraft assigned to the 962nd Airborne Air Control Squadron during RED FLAG-Alaska 26-3 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 20, 2026. The E-3 Sentry extends situational awareness for leadership, aircraft and allies, painting a more comprehensive picture of the airspace it occupies. RED FLAG-Alaska utilizes the Joint Pacific Alaskan Range Complex which covers approximately 120,000 square miles, providing realistic combat training environments essential to achieving air and space superiority in the Pacific region. Every two years, the Native Village of Eklutna invites the public to their powwow and potlatch, a two-day cultural event to learn about and celebrate Dena’ina Athabascan culture. U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Robert Davis, commander of Alaskan NORAD Region, Alaskan Command and Eleventh Air Force, alongside his staff, attended the event to show support for the military’s enduring relationship with the village and its tribal government.
