U.S. Marine Corps F-35C Lightning II aircraft assigned to Marine Fighter Attacks Squadron 251, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, conduct a familiarization flight before the start of RED FLAG-Alaska 26-3 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Aug. 14, 2026. RED FLAG-Alaska utilizes the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex airspace covering approximately 120,000 square miles and provides a realistic training environment, allowing Airmen to train for full spectrum engagements, ranging from individual skills to complex, large-scale joint engagements.
