Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific was established Oct. 1, 2023, when the Defense Health Agency realigned the former 23 medical markets into nine networks in order to improve health care delivery, combat support and enterprise support. DHN-IP is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, and oversees a joint, integrated health network with Army, Navy and Air Force personnel that provides quality care to approximately 223,000 beneficiaries, including active-duty service members, family members and military retirees. The network includes seven parent military treatment facilities with more than 40 supporting medical and dental facilities in Washington, California, Hawaii, Japan and the Republic of Korea and has a workforce of approximately 15,000 service members, civilians, and contractors that supports multiple combatant commands: U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Transportation Command, U.S. Cyber Command, and U.S. Space Command.   Puget Sound Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington is the main tertiary facility with Level II Trauma and a robust program of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (GME)Residencies, Fellowships, Phase II Training and Nursing/Administration programs. MAMC has seven child facilities to include Army Health Clinic Monterey in California. The 62nd Medical Squadron ensures the medical and dental readiness of 3,200 Air Force personnel to include a Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRAP) for the 62nd Air Wing as the nation’s sole provider of Prime Nuclear Airlift support.   Hawaii Military Treatment Facilities in Hawaii include three “parent” MTFs and six “child” facilities providing primary care, specialty care, inpatient, and emergency services, which includes Tripler Army Medical Center, Naval Health Clinic Hawaii, 15th Medical Group, and Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic- Schofield Barracks. TAMC is the largest MTF in the Pacific Basin with a 195-bed capacity, including 12 mental health beds. It is a Level II Trauma Center and a premier teaching medical center with GME programs in 20 medical specialties and subspecialties. NHC-H consists of five facilities across Oahu which ensure the readiness and health of the fleet. The 15MDG supports the U.S. Air Force’s 15th Wing, delivering outpatient health care for three wings and 65 geographically separated units across Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.   Japan Brig. Gen. Crawford F. Sams Health Clinic and MEDDAC-Japan ensure readiness by training a ready medical force and by providing outpatient services to an empaneled population of more than 2,300 active-duty service members, family members, and other TRICARE beneficiaries in support of U.S. Army Japan. Crawford Sams is a Patient Centered Medical Home and the only Army MTF on the island of Honshu. Translation and interpretation support is available for beneficiaries when Host Nation medical care is required.     Republic of Korea Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital provides support to Unified Land Operations and Armistice Health Care in the Korean Theater of Operations. Additionally, BDAACH is responsible for providing medical assets for updating Army Medical Readiness Command- Periodic Health Assessment compliance for all U.S. Army Units within the Republic of Korea.
