    U.S. Army Lt. Col. Droesch, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, reviews technical drawings with Chris Keith, Project Manager, Bureau of Reclamation during a visit to Anderson Ranch Dam, Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026. The meeting focused on the operational details of the facility and the regulatory review of the site for the upcoming Anderson Ranch Dam Raise Project. USACE supports BOR in the evaluation and review of the project from a regulatory standpoint, ensuring that construction is completed in an environmentally friendly manner.

    The Bureau of Reclamation and Idaho Water Resource Board project raises the crest of the 456-foot earthen dam by 6 feet. This structural expansion creates approximately 29,000 acre-feet (around 9.4 billion gallons) of new water storage capacity.
