Anthony Adame, right, a corrections and detention specialist, both assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, start the final stretch of a six-mile ruck during the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 11, 2026. After four days of demanding events, the final ruck challenged Soldiers to push through accumulated fatigue and discomfort, testing the resilience, endurance and mental discipline required to finish the competition’s physical events. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
