    Competitors and cadre from the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, pose for a photograph after they completed the six-mile ruck march on the final day of the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 11, 2026. The 603rd Dark Knight competition was a multi-day best squad competition that challenged Soldiers through events focused on physical fitness, marksmanship, medical skills, rucking and teamwork, testing their ability to perform as a cohesive team under demanding conditions. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans.
