    U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, start the six-mile ruck portion of the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 11, 2026. With six miles between them and the end of the physical competition, Soldiers pushed through one final ruck, putting five days of endurance, resilience and determination to the test before crossing the finish line. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
