A formal military ceremony is taking place in what appears to be a building lobby or hallway of the Vermont National Guard. A uniformed soldier is speaking at a podium while two civilians in suits stand near a partially unveiled display covered in black cloth. The event appears to be a dedication or unveiling ceremony related to 'Task Force Saber' and Vermont National Guard history.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Henry “Hank” Harder Jr., Adjutant General, Vermont National Guard, provides remarks during the Ramadi Cross unveiling ceremony at Camp Johnson, Colchester, Vt., Sept. 11, 2026. The Ramadi Cross was originally built in Ramadi, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom to honor the memory of Soldiers belonging to Task Force Saber, who were killed in action. The cross was transported back to Vermont and placed at the Ethan Allen Firing Range in Jericho, Vt. until recently. It has since been refurbished and now finds a home at the Vermont National Guard Headquarters and Headquarters Command. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Denis Nunez)
