    An Icelandic Coast Guard Airbus H225 Super Puma conducts hoist operations as U.S. Air Force pararescuemen assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron prepare a simulated casualty for medical evacuation from rocky terrain during mountain search and rescue training as part of exercise Northern Viking 26 in Iceland, Aug. 31, 2026. The operation combines U.S. pararescue ground-recovery capabilities with Icelandic Coast Guard aviation to reach and evacuate casualties from rough terrain.
