    86th Airlift Wing

    U.S. Air Force pararescuemen assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, traverse rugged terrain during mountain search and rescue training as part of exercise Northern Viking 26 in Iceland, Aug. 31, 2026. The training integrates U.S. pararescuemen with Icelandic Coast Guard Super Puma crew to practice operating in the steep, rocky terrain found throughout Iceland. Training in realistic High North conditions builds the readiness and interoperability needed to respond to emergencies and ensure security across the Arctic and North Atlantic.
