Zachary McKissick, with the 744th Engineer Company, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, troubleshoots a camera fault on a modified Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station (CROWS) in Del Rio, Texas, Aug. 23, 2026. Maintaining the system's camera and sensor suite ensures the unarmed CROWS configuration remains capable of supporting monitoring operations. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
