U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Race Sasser, with the 744th Engineer Company, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, pilots a Skydio X10D small unmanned aircraft system in Del Rio, Texas, Aug. 23, 2026. The system extends the unit's ability to conduct aerial reconnaissance and maintain situational awareness across areas of interest. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
