    Operation Ardent Vanguard

A modified Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station (CROWS) mounted on a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle provides U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers with the 744th Engineer Company, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) with an elevated observation capability in Del Rio, Texas, Aug. 23, 2026. Equipped with cameras and advanced electronic sensors, the unarmed CROWS configuration allows Soldiers to observe areas of interest without a weapons system attached. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
