A group of workers wearing blue hard hats and safety glasses are gathered around a large metallic cylindrical pipe or shaft that has a copper coil wrapped around it. The team appears to be inspecting, measuring, or performing technical work on the equipment in what looks like an industrial or engineering facility. At least one person is leaning in closely to examine or mark the pipe while others observe.

Master Labor Agreement employees, from U.S. Naval Ship Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center’s (SRF-JRMC) Pipefitting Shop (X56), practice installing a freeze seal at Fleet Activities Yokosuka on July 28. SRF-JRMC is taking another step forward in increasing its organic ship repair capability by introducing the freeze seal technique into its surface ship maintenance. For over 75 years, SRF-JRMC has been the linchpin of U.S. naval operations in the Pacific region by providing intermediate and depot-level repair for the ships of the U.S. 7th Fleet.
