The Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) participates in deck landing qualifications with a helicopter crew from Oxnard, California-based Aspen Helicopters Inc. off the coast of Port Hueneme on June 10. Pilots must requalify for deck landing certification twice a year to stay current and support the SDTS, which relies on helicopters to off-load personnel before live-fire testing.
