    The Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) cruises off the coast of Port Hueneme, California, on June 10. The Spruance-class destroyer recently marked the 50th anniversary of its commissioning as USS Paul F. Foster (DD 964) on Feb. 21, 1976. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division began operating the now-decommissioned vessel as the SDTS in 2006 to test naval weapons and combat systems. (U.S. Navy photo by Eric Parsons)
