YOKOSUKA, Japan (July 11, 2026) – Capt. Jon Hopkins, commander, fleet activities yokosuka (CFAY), poses for a photo with a local community member during the Perry landing memorial ceremony in Perry Park. The annual event commemorated the 173rd anniversary of Commodore Matthew C. Perry’s landing in Kurihama, offering an opportunity for base leadership and community residents to celebrate their shared history and mutual friendship. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
