YOKOSUKA, Japan (July 11, 2026) – Leana Lopez, acting political-military affairs counselor, U.S. Embassy, and Katsuaki Kamiji, mayor of Yokosuka, lay a ceremonial wreath during the Perry landing memorial ceremony in Perry Park. The wreath-laying honored the 173rd anniversary of Commodore Matthew C. Perry’s landing in Kurihama, symbolizing the enduring commitment to peace and cooperation between the United States and Japan. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
