A Soldier assigned to 3rd Battalion, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR), Tennessee Army National Guard, replaces the battery on an RQ-28A Short Range Reconnaissance (SRR) unmanned aircraft system during operator training at Volunteer Training Site-Tullahoma, June 16, 2026. Soldiers received hands-on instruction on aircraft setup, battery management, preflight procedures and system operation while learning to sustain and employ the drone in support of tactical reconnaissance The training supports the Tennessee Army National Guard’s ongoing modernization efforts as the 278th ACR transforms to a Mobile Brigade Combat Team.
