Staff Sgt. Shanea Benner, a culinary specialist with the U.S. Army Reserves, put final touches on the deserts for the Military Kitchen Challenge at the 50th Joint Culinary Training Exercise at MacLaughlin fitness center in Fort Lee, Virginia., March 2, 2026. The exercise, administered by the Joint Culinary Training Directorate, is the largest American Culinary Federation-sanctioned competition in North America. The exercise showcased the talent of more than 200 military chefs from all military services around the globe to include three international teams to include France, United Kingdom, and Germany.
