James LaFratta, the CASCOM command team, receive their entre at the Military Kitchen Challenge during the 50th Joint Culinary Training Exercise at MacLaughlin fitness center on Fort Lee, Virginia., Feb 28, 2026. The exercise, administered by the Joint Culinary Training Directorate, is the largest American Culinary Federation-sanctioned competition in North America. The exercise showcased the talent of more than 200 military chefs from all military services around the globe to include three international teams to include France, United Kingdom, and Germany.
