250916-N-PS838-1476 NORFOLK, Va. (Sept 16, 2025) Chief Petty Officer Logistics Specialist Lisa Thepvongsa, assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), stands at attention while being pinned by her mother and sponsor during a chief pinning ceremony at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, Sept. 16. The new chiefs belong to the 132nd class of the chief petty officer association. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard.
