(Sept 16, 2025) Chief Petty Officer Hospital Corpsman Michael Waltz, assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), marches to the side of the room while singing “Anchors Aweigh” during a chief pinning ceremony at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, Sept. 16. The new chiefs belong to the 132nd class of the chief petty officer association. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard.
