250916-N-PS838-1142 NORFOLK, Va. (Sept 16, 2025) Newly promoted Chief Petty Officers assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) stand at attention during a chief pinning ceremony at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, Sept. 16. The new chiefs belong to the 132nd class of the chief petty officer association. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard.
