A U.S. Air Force security forces Airman with the Air National Guard maintains security for his team from a second story window during a joint forceable entry, JFE, as part of a final culminating objective for exercise Sage Eagle 25-4 at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, August 31, 2025. The JFE tested Army Green Berets assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), ability to educate and empower airmen with advanced combat skills in a field environment.
Exercise Sage Eagle is a recurring, battalion-sized, unconventional warfare exercise that validates Special Forces’ ability to train and incorporate partner forces in unfamiliar environments. Sage Eagle’s stressful, realistic training prepares Air National Guard defenders for rapidly securing contingency locations while shifting their mindset towards the operational demands of complex evolving environments.
