    SASEBO, Japan (May 11, 2021) Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Jesse Gaines, from Fort Myers, Fla. presents a scholarship check on behalf of USS America’s Chief Petty Officer Association, to Halle-Marie Santiago at E.J. King High School. America, lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
