200910-A-FC661-1014 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 10, 2020) - Explosive ordnance disposal technicians assigned to Commander Task Force (CTF) 56 and Sailors assigned to the mine countermeasures ship USS Dextrous (MCM 13) prepare a blast site during a mine countermeasures interoperability exercise in the Arabian Gulf, Sept. 10. CTF 56 and Dextrous are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
