200909-A-FC661-1051 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 9, 2020) - Sailors assigned to the mine countermeasures ship USS Dextrous (MCM 13) and explosive ordnance disposal technicians assigned to Commander Task Force (CTF) 56 prepare a mock demolition site during a mine countermeasures interoperability exercise in the Arabian Gulf, Sept. 9. Dextrous and CTF 56 are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
