JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2020) – Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Mary Woodall, a radiology technician at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, conducts a chest x-ray with a sailor. Woodall, a native of Deatsville, Alabama, says “Radiology is a very rewarding field. Through the use of different imaging modalities (such as CT, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, and mammography), I’m able to provide patients with valuable imaging needed for continuity of care. It also allows me to apply my skills as a corpsman in unique ways. I look forward to progressing my knowledge in radiology, with CT in the near future.” November 8 – 14 is Radiologic Technology Week, commemorating the discovery of the x-ray on Nov. 8, 1895.
