JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2019) – Ensign Andrea Telenga, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Intensive Care Unit, dons gloves before tending to a patient. Telenga, a native of Carmel, Indiana, has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University. “I’ve been in the military since 2009, starting in the Air Reserve with one combat tour supporting Operation Enduring Freedom as the senior medic. After working as a civilian nurse, I felt called to do more and chose the Navy Nurse. Providing outstanding patient care is my mission because it’s incumbent upon me as a Navy Nurse to ensure my sailors and Marines are holistically ready to deploy, by caring not only for them, but also their families.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
