JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2019) – Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Efren Sollegue discusses pre-deployment requirements with a sailor at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Plans, Operations and Medical Intelligence (POMI) office. About thirty staff from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Jacksonville (co-located with NH Jacksonville) are deploying to a NATO Role 2 medical facility in U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility. Sollegue, a native of Baler, Aurora, Philippines, says, “POMI’s main role is to ensure that sailors are fully deployable, including to austere environments.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
