Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gather for a photo during a Nov. 8, 2019, ceremonial groundbreaking in French Camp, Calif., where USACE will build the Veterans Affairs Central Valley Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
Col. James Handura, USACE Sacramento District Commander, and Cheree Peterson, Programs Director for USACE’s South Pacific Division, joined VA leaders, members of Congress and many veterans from the Stockton community to celebrate the event and thank military veterans for their service.
Conveniently located next to San Joaquin General Hospital, the project includes construction of the 158,000 square foot clinic, as well as a 150,000 square foot, 120-bed Community Living Center, and an Engineering Logistics Building. All three are scheduled to be completed in 2022.
