A M-777 A2 Howitzer operated by the Marines of Mike Battery, 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, fires during Desert Fire Exercise 2012 here, May 9. During the 11-day exercise, the regiment developed and sustained their ability to plan and execute artillery fires in support of maneuver, fire support coordination and counter fires within an offensive scenario. Throughout the FIREX the Marines relocated with their weapons systems to provide accurate and effective fires for ground combat forces.
